For the first time ever, Belize was represented at the Humane Society of the United Stated Expo 2008. This educational conference and full scale trade show was an amazing experience. Caroline B. followed the International tract of the conference where she met other groups in Latin America who are facing the same hurdles as we do in Belize. All agreed that the most basic challenges take the most effort to achieve. Low cost spaying and neutering, humane euthanasia, changing existing laws or creating new animal welfare laws and education were the most talked about topics. Along with making friends from all over the world, this conference was inspirational and very rejuvenating.

HSI, the international arm of Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), came to Belize City to visit our facility after Hurricane Dean in August 07’. Hurricane Dean touched down just north of Belize in neighboring Mexico leaving a narrow path of destruction from gusting hurricane force winds. We were all very exciting to have them visit and look forward to our new relationship with this strong international organization.
